I’m always drawn to the light…
the way it touches something and begins to bring it forward.
It’s not really about what you see at first glance…
but what remains hidden.
I think that’s why I’m so drawn to chiaroscuro, softened edges, atmospheric layers, and building paintings slowly over time. Layer by layer, the light begins to reveal what was hidden before.

It’s not about darkness swallowing the subject…
it’s about what the light is quietly setting free.

A petal catching glow.
A copper vessel emerging from shadow.
A form slowly revealing itself.

That moment of emergence…
That’s what I’m always trying to paint.
